The University of Miami, School of Architecture is a preeminent location to study the built environment and its spatial effects. We distinguish ourselves as a global hemispheric institution that fosters an environment of experimentation, rigor and social capital. As a department, we occupy the beautiful central core of the University of Miami. Surrounded by ample flora and fauna, ecology is core to our approach to understanding architecture. Located in a culturally diverse metro area such as Coral Gables, FL, incorporating ethnographic studies as also an integral part of our curriculum.
Our professional degree is buttressed by robust facilities that house start of the art equipment ranging from robotic arms, to concrete 3D printers, to ample rapid prototyping machines. Those machines are stewarded by our numerous research labs that investigate topics such as digital fabrication and new technologies, ecology and natural materials, and socially engaged design. We offer a competitive but nurturing environment as our intimate class sizes allowed for more professional and career opportunities. We have a world class faculty, representative of contemporary modes of practices, so that potential students understand the full scope of their degree and the methods upon which they can leverage their studies professionally. In addition, our graduate students are very supportive of each other through peer mentorship, personal networking, and events. We are always looking for highly motivated and outstanding candidates.
